Best gym software in Pune: what Pune gym owners should look for
By Himanshu Thakur, Founder, Jimwala · Updated · 6 min read
Pune's city taluka had about 3.3 million people in the 2011 Census, and the wider district about 9.4 million. Its IT parks are well known: Hinjewadi has the Rajiv Gandhi Infotech Park, and Kharadi has EON IT Park and other business parks. Areas close to them, such as Baner and Wakad, are described as popular with young professionals. If your gym sits near such a cluster, your members' working lives shape your business.
Irregular hours and long commutes
Office-park members often leave late, travel far and miss weeks around releases or travel. This is our reasoning, not a number from any Pune gym. If it fits your gym, a frozen membership is better than a lost one. Jimwala supports freeze and rejoin on a member's plan, and tracks attendance so you can see who is drifting away.
Long hours also mean members want to act without visiting the desk. A renewal link in the WhatsApp reminder lets them pay from their phone, and the member page shows their plan, dues and receipts without a call.
Members who move jobs and cities
Pune attracts people who arrive for a job or a course and leave a year or two later. That is churn you cannot fully prevent. What you can do is keep a clean list of leads and old members, so that when someone returns, or a friend of a leaving member asks, you have the number and the history. The enquiry tracker saves who asked, what they wanted and when to call back.
The monsoon
Pune has a monsoon season that runs through the middle of the year, and heavy rain and waterlogged roads make a long commute to the gym less likely. Look at your own attendance in the rainy months. A limited monsoon offer code with an expiry date, or a short plan to hold members through it, can help. Our offers and referrals feature creates codes with limits.
Languages
Pune members will include Marathi speakers, Hindi speakers and people who work in English. Jimwala's screens are in English and Hindi. You write the reminder text that suits your members, and our free message generator and Marathi guide are there to help.

The 14-day free trial lets you test it on real members. Population figures are from the 2011 Census. IT park names come from property and city guides we checked. We could not source Pune's number of gyms or typical fees, so we have not stated them.
