How the prices are worked out
Each longer plan is the monthly fee times the number of months, less the discount you choose. At ₹1,500 a month with 5%, 10% and 20% off, three months is ₹4,275 (₹1,425 a month), six months is ₹8,100 (₹1,350 a month) and twelve months is ₹14,400 (₹1,200 a month). Showing the per-month figure matters because people compare that, not the total.
The mid-month joiner uses days left in the month. Someone who joins on day 20 of a 30-day month has 11 days left, so the pro-rata fee is ₹1,500 × 11 ÷ 30 = ₹550. Some gyms skip pro-rata and start every plan on the join date instead, which is simpler to explain. Either works. What matters is one rule your staff all follow.
Discounts are a choice, not a formula. A bigger discount on the yearly plan pulls cash forward but cuts what you earn per month. Our guide on membership plans and pricing explains how to choose.
About gym fee calculation
How do I price quarterly and yearly gym plans?
Start from your monthly fee and give a discount that grows with the length of the plan, for example a few percent off for three months and more for a year. Longer plans bring cash in early and keep members for longer, so the discount pays for itself.
What is a pro-rata fee?
It is a fee worked out for the part of a month that is left. A member who joins with ten days left in a 30-day month pays the monthly fee multiplied by ten divided by thirty. Many gyms instead start every plan on the day the member joins, which avoids the calculation.
Does this calculator add GST?
No. It works with the price you enter. If your gym is registered for GST, check with your accountant how the tax applies to your price.
Are the discounts a recommendation?
No. They are only what you type in. Set discounts from your own costs and what nearby gyms charge.
